I think it is important to provide user-friendly ways of installing specialized scientific bundles in any GNU/Linux distribution.
Current installers/package managers are unwieldy for people not in the view. If a user is interested in physics related packages with heavy stress on computation then these should be auto-magically suggested/installed. Possible work-flows can also be made clear.
