Hi everybody, Thanks Svetlana for bringing this up. I was looking for some technical help and I think this group may be the perfect place. I have developed a video rendering/visualization software specifically aimed at scientists. It's a set of bash scripts that wrap around libav, imagemagick, and mencoder. Its job is to add explanatory captions and images to scientific videos, and possibly to combine different videos together. It does all this by a user-friendly (yet text-based) syntax. The software is in usable form now. An early version is already used in my previous institute to present videos of biophysics simulations in their public website. I know how to make the software itself, but in many other areas I need help. 1. To set up a git repository to publish the software and to attract other developers. 2. To make a simple website where people can find about it. 3. To make a package so that people can easily use it in their distributions. 4. And of course, to test, find bugs, and extend. I already have a list of features I would like to add. Do you think this team is the right place for me to get help? BTW if someone is interested to work directly with the code, I can happily send it. Best regards, Masoud On 02/14/2016 06:24 PM, Svetlana Belkin
