Thank you for taking time to look at the bug. I am attaching my /etc/apt/sources.list file herewith.
I attempted to install php5-common=5.2.1-0ubuntu1.6. I got a response that some packages will be removed, some will be downgraded and some packages will be changed. Being new to LAMP, I was not sure whether I could reinstall the removed, downgraded packages. So, I aborted the installation. My command and response are as below: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/bhatdv/Desktop# apt-get install php5-common=5.2.1-0ubuntu1.6 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages will be REMOVED: libapache2-mod-php5 php5 php5-mysql The following held packages will be changed: php5-common The following packages will be DOWNGRADED: php5-common 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 downgraded, 3 to remove and 2 not upgraded. Need to get 224kB of archives. After unpacking 5988kB disk space will be freed. Do you want to continue [Y/n]? n Abort. Regards.
