Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I think changes like this should receive consensus from a wider audience, rather than just from people watching bugs in samba. In particular, I don't know what any downsides of doing this might be, and it would be best to consult with more experienced Ubuntu developers on this. This bug certainly seems valid; I just don't think that it can be acted on alone. Can you bring this up on an appropriate mailing list if you want this request to make progress? Perhaps ubuntu-desktop? ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264231 Title: Include samba and libpam-smbpass packages by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1264231/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
