"I had to do a "sudo bash" to get the password prompt from the "mysql"
command to work, from a # prompt), repeating the install appears to
work."

Can somebody enplane the above in a layman's process so I can get this
fixed on my machine? It seems like it worked. I am trying to avoid
doing fresh installs as I don't want to act like I am using Winslows!
