Initial upgrade to mysql server 5.6 from mysql-server 5.5 failed on
converting the startupscript, creating the new starttup script for 5.6
failed. through several upgrades mysql server would not start without
uninistalling and then reinstalling mysql server, it would never startup
up on system startup or on manual start.  failed on this update also
