Hi Luciano / Ping, Apologies for the delayed reply as I was away on vacation last few days. I tried to apply the patch from the link in comment #20. Few things I noticed was, - In parted (GNU parted) 2.3 which is on Ubuntu14.04.3: There is no _dm_remove_map_name() in libparted/arch/linux.c, hence the patch failes to apply at this part.
