Public bug reported:

1)System

Release :

Description: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS
Release: 14.04

Kernel:
Linux 3.13.0-61-generic #100-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 29 11:21:34 UTC 2015 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

2) Package:

vsftpd 3.0.2-1ubuntu2.14.04.1

3) Expected:

Being able to authenticate vsftpd users via PAM authentication
PAM MySql authentication seems broken in vsftpd package on x64 Architectures

4) What happens:
Tring to login on the ftp server, I get the following message "libgcc_s.so.1
must be installed for pthread_cancel to work". There are no significant errors
in vsftpd.log, and the authentication request does not seem to reach the PAM
MySql auth module (nothing in auth.log).

I managed to temporarily fix the problem following this thread
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2218804) which reports the
same issue. Every time I run apt-get upgrade, I have to reapply the fix.
