Public bug reported: File named mysqld.cnf on folder /etc/mysql/conf.d with content:
[mysqld] character-set-server=utf8 collation-server=utf8_general_ci Is ignored altogether, albeit the configuration of my.cnf stated that all files on that folder is read. Placing the file on /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d (with different name naturally as there is one already there) doesn't work either. Renaming the files with starting numbers doesn't affect either (placing the stated file before or after the existing ones). The only way to change the those server settings are by adding those configurations into the existing /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf which defeats the purpose of having configuration folders and allow overridings. Also, it would be useful to have an equivalent symlink configuration system as it happens with apache2 (and other software packages) to turn on/off functionality. ** Affects: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: config -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-5.6 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1563791 Title: cnf file ignored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6/+bug/1563791/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
