You missed log.smbd and log.nmbd. These are important, since they are
the most recent logs from each one of these services. Could you please
attach them?

That being said, I see a couple of issues already:

a) you configure the guest account as being "smbguest", but the logs complain 
that this user does not exist. Do you have it? Try:
    id smbguest
    sudo pdbedit smbguest

b) It seems that at least sometimes when samba starts up, there is no
network configured on that machine. Maybe it's a desktop and you only
have networking after you login and network-manager takes over?
