This is kind of a nasty one...

Vista does not include drivers for the rtl card, which is the default
emulated NIC for kvm virtual machines.

Instead, you should use the e1000 card/driver.

There isn't much that we can do about this in kvm. We use the venerable
realtek card as it has long been a "common denominator" among many OS's,
and vista seems to be unique in the only one that bucks this trend.
