this just happened to me while upgrading samba-common. My computer was
not suspended during upgrade. not sure if the upgrade succeeded or not.
Not sure if this is a problem to be worried about or not.

On regular system update, samba asked what to do with different smb-conf files.
I cliked the last option ("open ??? with external application"(?)) and it
hanged up.
