Yes it would. Other SRU-based options have been considered in #ubuntu-release by mdz, mathiaz and kirkland, but were not mentioned here. That made me doubt that the solution presented in comment 10 was appropriate. In light of that discussion and Martin's solution, I think we can safely discuss the best fix postrelease.
