Hi Jean-Baptiste, I am sorry I am unable to follow your commands because I have chosen another solution that worked for me. I have figured out that problem was in /var/lib/dpkg/info preinstall and postinstall files (they had 0bytes length and almost all related packages had the same problem) and when I deleted them I was able to remove all affected packages. After that I was able to install virt-manager properly.
I have also tried to install virt-manager on another notebook (Dell E6500) with kubuntu9.10 and it was without any problem. Therefore it seems that all problems appeared because of the system freeze. It happened for the first time and I have absolutely no idea why it crashed down.
