Public bug reported: Binary package hint: qemu-kvm
KSM is supported by the current Lucid kernel. However, the current version of the qemu-kvm package, 0.11, does not support KSM. Therefore, memory usage will be suboptimal, as this key feature is disabled for KVM VM guests unless a high enough version of the qemu-kvm package is used. Since this is an LTS release, I strongly recommend resolving this issue, as virtualization features such as KSM are crucial for many users, and failure to get this into the LTS release means LTS users will probably have to wait another two years, or build things themselves (outside of the shipped packages). ** Affects: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: deduplication ksm kvm qemu-kvm virtualization vm ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- qemu-kvm 0.12.1.1 needed (KSM not available in current 0.11 version) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500272 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
