Hi Chuck, Sorry, I forgot to put that in the case... Ubuntu 9.10 with gnome / desktop and it's got the 'nis' package on it that is described as 'client and daemons' so it's able to be a NIS slave server. However nothing references it so it's acting purely as a client of the site's NIS servers. Matthew L.
