Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Release: 8.04 In the current release of Samba 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.11 any symlinks present in a shared folder will not resolve correctly and a path not found error is triggered on the client-side. Rolling back the various samba packages and dependencies to 3.0.28a- 1ubuntu4.10 fixes the issue. samba: Installed: 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.10 Candidate: 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.11 Version table: 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.11 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com hardy-security/main Packages *** 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.10 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: samba smbfs symlink ** Summary changed: - cannot follow symlinks on any share + cannot follow symlinks on any samba share -- cannot follow symlinks on any samba share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
