My suspicion is that your issue is not related to the original subject of
this (older) bug.
I wonder:
a.) Does pump work for you where dhcp3 fails?
b.) What wireless chipset you have in your x40. My feeling is that your
problem is more related to the wireless than to the dchp client.
Could you please describe your problem a bit more?
