Public bug reported: After creating a a virtual machine with vmbuilder, 'apt-get update' produces the following error:
W: GPG error: http://archive.ubuntu.com lucid Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <ftpmas...@ubuntu.com> Work-a-round: change the url, of only the first line ('deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lucid main restricted universe ') in /etc/apt/sources.list: - from a general form: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu - to a country specific one: http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu Then 'apt-get update' works as expected. Strange is however that right after a succesfull update, restoring the original url does not break the system. It has probably to do with the fact that during the producing of the vm, the country specific url is used (I'm not sure about this, but this is an educated guess). ** Affects: vm-builder (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- vmbuilder produces a gpg error on apt-get update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662221 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
