Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It looks like bind9 failed to restart, yet there are no helpful messages in the dmesg. Could you please attach any files under /var/log/named/ or any /var/log/bind* or /var/log/named* files? If no such files exist, could you look for named/bind9 log messages in /var/log/syslog, and append those? i.e. "grep named /var/log/syslog > appendme.txt"
