Hi Stas, Thanks for you work on this - I would really urge you to rather contribute patches and work with the Debian PHP Maintainers team. PHP is fairly important to many users, and many applications are build against it (phpldapdamin, phpmyadmin ++ many others).
I don't think it would be in our best interest to push 5.3.5 ahead of Debian at this moment. Please look at working with them about getting 5.3.5 there first.
