Public bug reported: As described here: http://www.nigeldunn.com/2011/05/14/ubuntu-11-04-libjpeg-so-libpng-so-php-installation-issues/
There is no proper fix yet for libpng - just manually symlinking, which is bad. For libjpeg, I was able to use the "libjpeg8-dev" package and that resolved it. I believe this is a multiarch issue, and I am not sure if Ubuntu can provide a fix (perhaps drop a symlink in the right places through libpng-dev?) or push/suggest the right way for PHP to detect the library location. ** Affects: php5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs libpng -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/811273 Title: FTBFS due to libpng (and lesser libjpeg) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/811273/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
