Hi Seetharam, thanks for taking the time to file this bug and help us make Ubuntu better.
Your hostname is not valid as a mail host name, so postfix is refusing to start. This is commonly attributed to a poorly configured cable modem or router which hands out invalid hostnames with underscores in the names or numbers as the first characters. You can verify this by looking at /etc/hostname and /etc/mailname, both files can be edited to be something more correct for postfix. Once it is appropriate, 'dpkg --configure -a' should finish configuring postfix. This is not a bug in postfix though, so closing as Invalid. ** Changed in: postfix (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934011 Title: package postfix 2.7.0-1ubuntu0.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 75 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/934011/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
