The same for me. I'm trying to connect from Windows (XP and 7) to a shared printer on Ubuntu Server 12.04. And both on WinXP and Win7 get the same error as others in this thread after drivers installation (in Russian: "Windows не удается подключиться к принтеру. Введено неправильное имя принтера или указанный принтер утерял подключение к серверу"). At the same time, I can add a network printer, using "http://<hostname>:631/printers/<printername>", but it is not convenient for the users.
