** Description changed: I am using MAAS in a network w/ a preexisting DNS/DHCP infrastructure. I - would like for my MAAS nodes to use the CNAME for the IP they are - assigned as their hostname. This seems to work - but only for the first - enlisted node. All following nodes get configured with the - node-<mac>.local names. I've rebuilt my MAAS server from scratch a few - times, varying which node I enlist first, and have ruled out DNS issues. - The same node will get a CNAME-based-hostname if enlisted first, and a - mac-based name if enlisted after the first.
