Well I'm pretty sure the problem is this. I've just gone to another (unconnected) Lucid box, and:
root@extility-developers:~# lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS Release: 10.04 Codename: lucid root@extility-developers:~# ls -ln /etc/bind/rndc.key -rw-r----- 1 103 108 77 2012-06-14 14:23 /etc/bind/rndc.key See rndc.key is owned by UID 103, which is not equal to 0. So the Precise postinst script does not do the chmod. You may not have received reports because bind actually works, just uses high CPU. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1086775 Title: bind9 uses high CPU after lucid->precise upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1086775/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
