Thanks for submitting this bug.  Indeed qemu does not seem to be aware
of the current default locations (and should be).  However doing

kvm -net nic -net tap,script=/usr/bin/qemu-ifup,downscript=/usr/bin
/qemu-ifdown

does work for me.

Is fixing that so that the defaults work all that you are bringing up
here, or is there more that you are recommending?

(Since I believe there is a workaround, I would ordinareily lower the
priority to low or medium, but as it affects defaults I'll leave it at
high)
