Not sure what you are really aiming for here. If you are looking to gather a
kernel crash dump and analyze it then I would suggest LKCD
(http://lkcd.sourceforge.net/), kdump, mkdump, and diskdump. I personally
use LKCD and mkdump. If you are looking to log the kernel and see what is
going wrong before the crash -- then look into klogd (man klogd).
