It is better to report the bug in Ubuntu. And the best way to do that is to use the command line tool ubuntu-bug, like so: ubuntu-bug <packagename> If possible, double check if the bug affects other distros as well. In our case, trying Xubuntu is not a bad idea, since we both use XFCE. If the bug only happens in Ubuntu Studio it is clearly a problem that the Ubuntu Studio dev team need to take care of. Reporting bugs can be painful at times, but very important as well.
