I had a working package that just needed some further work to comply with Debian Policy here: https://code.launchpad.net/~rosco2/+git/carla Feel free to start from there, and push updates to somewhere else. A new version of Carla has been release since then, so step 1 would be to import the latest version. Let me know if there are any questions. I can sponsor the upload into Debian when it is ready.
