i don't know if I should post this here or on the ardour site...but hell.

I just love ardour, but there is a problem...I'm kind of a sloppy musician,
and I have to re-take a lot...which means that a lot of useless audio gets
saved in the song files. for instance, the last song I wrote has a whopping 8
gig .wav file!

there is a cleanup option in the session folder, but every time I try it,
Ardour freezes on me, and I have to force quit. there is a first message box
that sais that unless I delete a specific region, there is nothing to delete,
and if I agree, the thing crashes.

I use the basic ardour gtk that came with ubuntustudio 7.04 ...my cpu is a amd
athlon dual core 2.4 ghz with a cheapo onboard "realtek" sound card, and a
delta44 as my main in/out audio.

All I want is to reduce the files to a DVD friendly 4 gig... can anyone help
an enthusiast, but stomped composer with a very full hard drive?
