If you open a terminal and start jackd in there like this:

/usr/bin/jackd -R -dfreebob -r96000 -p128 -n3

jackd should start OK and THEN you can klick "Start" in Qjackctl.
Because jackd is running already, Qjackctl shows "Active" as its Satus and:
shows all the ports of the firebox in the audio-panel the same as if it
had started jackd itself...

Dont do that! make yourself member of group disk and start jackd as
normal user. (You may need to restart your computer after changing the
groupsettings, especially if you had jackd running as root before...).
