It works!! Actually Freebob was working fine all along. I just thought it wasn't because aplay -l didn't work, and because when I clicked on the sound icon in the top right I got a 'no soundcard found' message - but I guess these things don't matter when you are using freebob. In fact the only reason I wasn't getting sound was I had the wrong input selected on my Firewire Solo, d'oh! I feel slightly silly, but maybe some other dumb newbie like me will read this post and find it helpful :-) And wow, the sound quality with the Firewire Solo is so much better than when I was using an onboard soundcard!! -Katie [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Send Ubuntu-Studio-users mailing list submissions to > ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > You can reach the person managing the list at > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Ubuntu-Studio-users digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
