Open the file '/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf' with gedit or nano:
'sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsabase.conf'
see if the line:
'options snd-ice1712 model=delta1010lt'
Is present in the file.
If not, write this line in the file.
Restart and see if it works.

I assume that you have set up jack correctly and it starts ok with m-audio.
In that case you most likely have not raised the volumes for inputs and 
outputs in the envy24 mixer.
You will find them in one of the last tabs in the envy24 mixer window. 
Named dac0, dac1.. for outputs (or something similar), and adc0, adc1.. 
for inputs.
