using the audiofire12 as the audio device, and the midisport as the midi
device, what is the latency you are seeing reported from JACK? what are your
JACK settings? have you tried pushing it lower? what kernel are you using
(run in a terminal "uname -a" without the quotes) ... MIDI itself is not
that much data, so i am proposing that the latency you are experiencing is
not related to the MIDI device (the midisport) but whatever you are using to
monitor (internal card, or the audiofire12) or how JACK and/or the machine
is configured...
