Joseph Ronne, Did you check the image, MD5SUM and the DVD after it was burned? How did you try to install the Flashplugin-installer, seperated or through the recommende xubuntu-restricted-extras? Because i've had no issues here on my Ubuntu Studio install and flash is working.
I'd also check the hard drive just to make sure it's still ok and has no bad blocks.
