I agree! At the moment I'm the nanny of my neighbour women's laptop,
since the original nanny, her flatmate, is on vacation. To troubleshoot
the hardware issues of her laptop I used a Linux live CD, since the
information given by XP is useless. I also needed a screwdriver and some
knowhow to remove and mount RAM etc.. The young man from the repair shop
claimed that the laptop should be ok, just Windows should be broken,
because others and I, too may people should have damaged her Windows.
Sure, I run the defragmentation and installed Firefox that damaged
Windows. Using a Linux live CD and playing with the RAMs I figured out
that the laptop crashes even when using a Linux live CD, no Windows,
because the RAM access is broken. That even doesn't mean that the RAMs
are borked. However, there are more nannies out here, able to help with
issues when using Windows. My neighbour women can't use Firefox, she is
used to type domain names into the input line of Explorer, she can't do
the same for Firefox and wanted me to remove Firefox, so that she can do
it again using Explorer. I even needed to explain her, that she still
can use Explorer with it's input line. The input lines of Firefox and
Explorer are the same, but she can't use Firefox's input line.

Another issue she experienced, Windows opens a window saying something
similar to "push the Wifi key, then you can access the internet". So she
needs to ask me what's broken. I explained her, that she needs to do
what the message inside the opened Windows does explain, pushed the
button and everything was ok. Next time she will ask me or somebody else
again.

I don't want to nanny the Linux of such users, they go and buy a printer
at the discounter that can't be used with Linux and then I'm the idiot.
No thank you, I help her and other Windows users and I'm very
rough-and-ready when doing this.
