I have tried this, and I keep getting reminded about the blocked updates, and the refusal to upgrade to the latest version.

Then it might be easier to copy and paste any error messages on an email to the list. There are places you can retrieve the apt logs, but you probably won't need to if the error is obvious to us here. I did not see information there that gave a reason.
