Make sure you use Ubuntu Studio Controls to start Jack, and make sure
the checkbox for a2jmidid is checked prior to startin Jack.
Also, Carla is not replacing Patchage anymore, but will be replacing
jack-rack.

using Carla because its going to replace Patchage in 19.04
I have been unable to use Carla for ALSA midi routing. Please see the

device to xjadeo (running as MTC Alsa Sync mode).
