Thanks Eric. This is what I get when I try to upgrade via terminal. jerry@jerry-DellPC780:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade [sudo] password for jerry: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Calculating upgrade... Done The following packages have been kept back: gmic 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded. jerry@jerry-DellPC780:~$ sudo do-release-upgrade Checking for a new Ubuntu release Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading. Solved: had to remove an old version of Gmic with synaptic first. I was getting a message that I needed to run all upgrades first even though everything appeared updated. Once I removed gmic, upgrade was allowed to take place. In progress now.
