Although that's not clear in the UI, when you change your location using
the map you have to save the changes by clicking on the Save button at
the bottom of the page. Maybe it was being reset to Egypt because you
forgot to save?

No matter how many times I use the map to place the marker on Miami, FL and
save the settings, Launchpad insists on resetting my location to Egypt.
