Grid view is locked to a chronological order, while list view is locked to a feed order. In list view, when you have numerous RSS feeds within any one topic it becomes cumbersome to scroll through all the read articles within one feed in order to read the new ones within the next. The only way around this is to put application into grid view, which makes inefficient use of the screen space.
