I'll be honest: I don't think I can help much as the learning curve to contribute seems quite steep (strategy, libraries, norms, tools...). But if that's the kind of anwer we get for reporting a basic flaw in my view (management of sd card) then I am loosing hope in ubuntu os. I am sad to say so, believe me.
