The English in the UI was never a result of lack of localization over at Mozilla, gd has been fully translated and maintained since 2012.
However, I'm not seeing the problem these days on my system (also set to gd) so perhaps the change you mentioned resolved this issue, so closing the bug seems reasonable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Translations Coordinators, which is subscribed to Ubuntu Translations. On Windows, after every update, the Scottish Gaelic language pack (gd) is at 100%, so the locale translators are definitely keeping up. On Ubuntu 14.04, Firefox is always littered with English language strings. This week, after an update Firefox switched to 100% English. I suspect that something's not working with your upstream coordination; could you please look into this? Thanks.
