Hi everybody!

A while ago there was an email on this list saying that translations
for Kubuntu Docs wouldn't be published. However, Kubuntu Docs is
published in English with Kubuntu 12.04.

Our team (German) had already translated a large part of the Kubuntu
Docs and we have also (almost) finished the rest by now.

The reason, why translations for Kubuntu Docs won't be published was
poor quality. Nevertheless, the English original was considered as
good enough to include it in Kubuntu 12.04.

Therefore, my question is: Is it possible to get Kubuntu Docs
translations released for Kubuntu 12.04, so it doesn't look like it
hasn't been translated and all the work and effort that has been put
into it by the translators isn't wasted?

In my opinion, a documentation with some glitches is still better than
no documentation at all.

Maybe we can get this sorted out until the next language pack update.

Hendrik

Hi,

David Wonderly (Darkwing) promised in IRC [1] that translations will be released with 12.10 and so did Johnathan Riddell.

So you have to wait and trust that they will keep the promise [2].

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Yuri

P.S. The current docs after the nuking of translations by the formatting changes right before 12.04 are not worth to translate, imho. Plasma has changed significantly, it refers to unsupported non-KDE applications (Kino) instead of native (Kdenlive), Muon is undocumented (at all, despite the promises), development section is a mess.
