Try entering:

       sudo smbpasswd -a yourUsernameHere

That command should enter you into the samba password file so you can log in. There is more information in the smbpasswd man page.

Alternatively you can edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file and change the line security=user to security=share. This is less secure, however your home directory should still be protected.
