Agreed and it is nice to have that guarantee but surely then you might as
well pay the extra and get the 30 days support just incase an update causes
problems? 

Plus if you know it works on the inspiron you could buy a latitude and put
it on there just check the chipsets are similar.

there that will "just work". Given the nightmares people have had
trying to get linux distros to install reliably on various laptops, if
I was considering a laptop right now and didn't want to take any risks
then I'd go for the Dell
