My oldest working laptop is 1024x768 and that's a 1GHz Celeron. Others are 1920x1200, 1440x1050, 800x480 and 1024x600. At UDS last week there were a fair few thinkpads, but also quite a few Mac laptops. I guess 1024x768 is a general minimum for a non-netbook laptop these days.
