Hi all
I have some trouble setting up my Samba Server. Here is the Samba file:
# Samba config file created using SWAT
# from UNKNOWN (0.0.0.0)
# Date: 2010/09/01 21:58:03

[global]
    log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
    passwd chat = *Enter\snew\s*\spassword:* %n\n
*Retype\snew\s*\spassword:* %n\n *password\supdated\ssuccessfully* .
    obey pam restrictions = Yes
    map to guest = Bad User
    passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
    wins support = true
    dns proxy = No
    server string = %h server (Samba, Ubuntu)
    unix password sync = Yes
    workgroup = BIGGROUP
    os level = 20
    syslog = 0
    panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d
    usershare allow guests = Yes
    max log size = 1000
    pam password change = Yes

[printers]
    comment = All Printers
    path = /var/spool/samba
    create mask = 0700
    printable = Yes
    browseable = No
    browsable = No

[print$]
    comment = Printer Drivers
    path = /var/lib/samba/printers

[TShare]
    path = /data/NetworkShares/TShare
    valid users = @TGroup, @cAdmin
    read only = No

[YGroup00]
    writeable = yes
    valid users = @TGroup,@YGroup00,@cAdmin,@users
    path = /data/NetworkShares/YGroup00

[Temp]
    path = /data/NetworkShares/Temp
    read only = No
    guest ok = Yes

cAdmin is my Ubuntu 10.4 x86 admin user

The Temp directory has the following security and is a temp dump for all so
there is no need for access control:
Owner: cAdmin - full rights
Group: users - full rights
Other: full rights

The TShare directory has the following security and is meant to have access
control to allow only the TGroup and cAdmin groups:
Owner: cAdmin - full rights
Group: TGroup - full rights
Other: read only

The YGroup00 directory has the following security and is meant to have
access control only for TGroup, YGroup00 and cAdmin groups:
Owner: cAdmin - full rights
Group: YGroup - full rights
Other: read only

The groups have the following members:
YGroup00 - cAdmin, u1001, asdfg
TGroup - cAdmin, asdfg
cAdmin - cAdmin
users - cAdmin, asdfg, u1001

All Users and Groups do exist in Samba and in Ubuntu

>From Swat I can see that smbd, nmbd and winbindd are running and have
restarted them a few times
>From XP I can see the Shares but can not access one of them:
- on TShare it comes up with a Logon screen but NO username & password
combination works
- on Temp share it does not even ask me for a password it just state "You
might not have permission to use this network... The network path was not
found" - NOTE I can see the share when I look at the server list
- on YShare00 share it does not even ask me for a password it just state
"You might not have permission to use this network... The network path was
not found" - NOTE I can see the share when I look at the server list

I did not add or change any of the settings in the XP box but guess and hope
this is not required

Please could you help me to come to know what the fault/s is/are

thanx
