Hi Neill, Welcome to Linux and Ubuntu. In addition to the resources already mentioned, I would like to add two more:
1. Your local Linux User Group (LUG) is probably an excellent front-line support group. Get on their mailing list and, if possible, show up for a meeting and introduce yourself. If folks can't answer your question, they may direct you to seek expert help in another forum more specific to your system or application (Firefox, KDE, whatever). The LUG is a good place to sound out your problems and develop relationships with other community members. Check this list for one close to you: http://www.linux.org/groups/usa/california.html 2. Often you can find someone who has experienced and solved the your same problem by searching on the Ubuntu Forums. This is an advantage of using a popular flavor of Linux. Searching for your error message word-for-word is usually a good place to start. http://ubuntuforums.org/ -- Ubuntu-us-ca mailing list Ubuntu-us-ca@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-us-ca
